Hal Lind, Electrical Engineer and Entrepreneur

Technological innovation has been improving living standards since the dawn of civilization. However, change used to be occasional and gradual. For several centuries, improvements have been accelerating, and the twentieth century has had the most change ever. The National Academy of Engineering has ranked those that have most affected our daily lives, the things we use often, if not daily. This talk counts down the top ten technologies that occurred during the last century, discussing how they came to be, and ending with the development that still has the most effect on our daily lives. (This is a walk down memory lane.)
