General Medler began her military career as an enlisted Marine before joining the Air Force, retiring in 2014 as a brigadier general.
Over her 27-year Air Force career, she commanded at the squadron, group, and wing levels and deployed to Afghanistan to lead more than 100 coalition personnel.
She culminated her career as director of capability and resource integration for United States Cyber Command, orchestrating development of the current strategy and resourcing plan for the Department of Defense cyber mission force.
Her other key assignments included: director of communications and networks for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense corporate fellow, and presidential communications officer at the White House Communications Agency.
Brig Gen Medler is founder, president and CEO of L.A. Medler & Associates, providing cyber strategy and operational consulting services. Until December 2017, she served as chief information-security officer and director of information-technology security at Raytheon Missile Systems.
